Course Relfection

I truly enjoyed this class. It has taught me so much about computers and computer programs that I thought I would never be able to complete or understand. I am not the best at working with or on computers, but I took everything slow and broke it all down piece by piece. With the help from this course, I feel like I am more comfortable with using computers. I learned something new from every assignment, and it has helped me with my other classes I am taking as well. My favorite assignment was the MovieMaker. I enjoyed making my movie, and sharing it with my class. I also enjoyed watching every other students movie as well. I feel as if I have accomplished a goal because I was very nervous at the beggining of this class just because I am not great at working with computers. I feel like I have done well in this class, and I have learned more than what I expected to learn in this class. I also did not expect to be working with other students in this course, but that was very helpful. I am glad I got to know some of the other students as well. I also feel like the teacher was very helpful and fast to respond to any questions I had. This made everything less stressful, and especially if I did not unerstand an assignment. I thought the professor was true and fair. This was a great course to be in, and I feel that I am better prepared for the use of technology.

Assistive Technology Assignment

I thought the assistive technology assignment was very interesting. I thought it was neat to read and answer the questions, and then read your partners answers. Then put them together. I think this could be very useful to students, and I think it is a great tool for students to learn how to work well with one another. I found it to be useful, and I learned information from my partner that I did not know. Our answers were similar, but my partner did have some points that I did not see. I liked using this tool and plan to use it in my classroom someday as well.

Web Page

I enjoyed creating my teacher web page. I thought is was fun to make for the most part, but I did get confused on somethings. I kept messing up the side bar for some reason. Once I figured out how to do it, then it was not that hard. I think this is a great idea for each teacher to do, then parents can keep up with what is going on in the classroom. Students can also see what the coming up events are, and look at something they may have forgot. I also like how we did a resource page, and linked sites for the students.

Turn It In

Turn it in is a very interesting site to use to help teachers catch plagarism. I found it very easy to use and submit work into. I like how it can tell you the percentage of the essay that is copied exactly from another source. I did not find any trouble in using this web site. I found it to be useful. My first essay was 98% plagiarized, and my second essay was not. I plan to use this site in my future classroom.

Web Tools

Out of the three assignments, I would have to say that the quiz would have to be my favorite. I thought it was easy to use, and I think it would be a great tool for a teacher to use in their classroom. I also enjoyed creating the rubric. I think it would be useful for teachers, and help keep them organized. I think that TrackStar is a great tool to use so that students are able to search the internet, but also will not be allowed on any inappropriate websites while at school. All of these tools will be handy in the classroom. It is also helpful to help create new ideas for teachers to use in their classrooms. I plan to use all of these web tools in my future classroom.

Google Group

I think google group is a great program to use if somone needs to work on a group project. I found it to be a little confusing at times, but that was because I have never used it or anything like it. Iworked through the difficulties I had, and shared information with my group. It was difficult to stay in touch with each group member, but that is because we all have different busy schedules and are all on the computer at different times. This is usually a problem I find with any group project. We all worked hard and completed the project on time though. I thought the group assignment turned out great, and I plan to use this tool in the future.

My Movie

I really enjoyed making my movie. I thought it was very fun and easy to use. The hardest part was actually deciding what pictures to use and not messing up when I was talking. This was a great technology tool, and it can be very useful in the classroom. I enjoyed watching the others movies as well. It helped me to learn about the other students that are in this same program as well. I thought this was a very interesting tool, and it has been my favorite assignment yet.

Concept Map/ Inspiration

I enjoyed the concept map and Inspiration. I enjoyed working on the concept map, and thought it was an enjoyable assignment to complete. I also enjoyed working with inspiration, it was new to me and it took me a while to understand how to use it. After I got the hang of it, I thought it was easy. It was a fun program to work with and I hope to use it again. I may purchase this program and use it for my next semester of classes, and use it in my classroom at school as well. The first time to use these tools may seem difficult becuase it is so many little things to figure out and complete, but in the end I find them both to be great and useful tools.

My name is Ainsley Vice. I am a Kindergarten Assistant at East Central Lower Elementary. This is my first year working full time in the school system. I am learning new things everyday. I am very excited about this program, and I believe it gives me a chance to actually see how a classroom is conducted before I start teaching. I also work for a dance studio a few nights a week. I teach children from the ages of 4 up to 14. I enjoy being with my family and friends, shopping, and the beach. I am very active in my church and community. I am engaged to Justin Godlewsky, and we will be getting married December 5, 2009. I have a busy semester ahead of me, but I am very excited about it all!
